channelferry.com is an independent comparison site for the ferry routes across the English Channel, published by Cruise Media GmbH. It covers the whole corridor, because the crossing is a real choice: the Dover short sea buys speed and frequency, while the western routes from Newhaven, Portsmouth, Poole and Plymouth buy road miles - they land you in Normandy or Brittany with much of the drive already done.

The question this site answers is not "which ferry company" but "which crossing, from which port, on my date". The Channel's routes differ more than their map lines suggest: some sail around the clock, some once a day, some only overnight, one only in season - and the operating picture changes, as the current review of two western routes shows. Departures and from-prices render live rather than as copied tables, and where a rule decides a booking it is named: the foot-passenger sailings at Dover, the pet check-in margin, the winter pause at Roscoff.

What this site is not

channelferry.com is a guide to the crossings and not the website of Brittany Ferries, DFDS, P&O Ferries, Irish Ferries or any port or authority. It is not a France travel guide either: ports appear as arrival points with their onward roads, not as holiday recommendations. The Dover - Calais route has its own dedicated site in our network, and the Channel Tunnel is covered by its own guide - here they appear for comparison, so you can judge the corridor as a whole.
